UKZN Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter Involved in Wills Week

October 17, 2017

UKZN Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter members with J Leslie Smith Law firm members.

The Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter (BLASC) on UKZN’s Pietermaritzburg campus collaborated with Law firm J Leslie Smith to provide free legal advice and will drafting to the public during a Wills Week Initiative.

The service was offered from the High Court in Pietermaritzburg.

BLASC members provided the public with details about their basic constitutional rights, handing out pamphlets with information on the importance of having a will and inviting the public to have their wills drafted at no cost through J Leslie Smith.

J Leslie Smith, situated at 332 Jabu Ndlovu Street in Pietermaritzburg, provides will drafting services throughout the year as its contribution to giving back.

BLASC students identified the need for the initiative as they believe people’s rights are being violated and the general public is vulnerable as they do not have sufficient legal knowledge.

BLASC initiatives are held regularly to help bring social justice to both Law students and the public.
