Applications are currently open for the U.S. government funded Fulbright Foreign Student Program for post-graduate students and young professionals. Selected students receive grants to pursue a Master’s or PhD program in the United States, or to engage in research in the U.S. as part of a current South African PhD. On average, 20 South African students per year go to the U.S. on this selective program.
Applications close April 20 for studies to begin in August 2017. Additional information and the on-line application can be found here on the U.S. Embassy website.
Tuesday 22 March there will be a workshop at the U.S. Consulate General for applicants. The workshop will give an overview of the application process, answer questions, and offer tips on writing the required application essays. Attendees are expected to have started their application on-line before attending the workshop. RSVP’s must include the applicant’s full name, a contact phone number, and be received by Wednesday, 16 March: EducationUSAdbn@state.gov
