The COVID-19 pandemic has been described by the United Nations as a global health emergency which has crippled major economies across the globe. In accordance with the Disaster Management Act 57 of 2002, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared it as a national disaster which saw South Africa going into lockdown from 27 March 2020. While the lockdown has been vital in curbing the spread of the virus, it has also presented many social, business, management and leadership challenges. In response, management scientists and legal experts from the College of Law and Management Studies have reviewed their research areas and aligned them to address and debate some of the challenges through a series of thought leadership articles and short videos. This information is aimed at empowering the business community with the tools to navigate the unprecedented turbulent environments they are operating in.
