Biography

Professor Bomi Nomlala is an associate professor who teaches auditing at the third level in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance within the Accounting discipline. He has over 15 years of auditing education experience and was awarded his PhD in Accounting by the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2019. Prior to joining UKZN in 2007, Bomi worked for the Auditor-General of South Africa as a trainee and as a manager. Bomi is a member of professional bodies namely, the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). He is also passionate about imparting knowledge to student’s research in the following areas:

  • Financial Capability;
  • Forensic Accounting and
  • Financial Knowledge
