In recognising the importance of research in understanding and addressing mental health challenges, JICS conducted an exploratory study to explore the prevalence of mental illness and associated factors within Ebongweni Correctional Centre. The primary objective of this research study was to gain valuable insights into the mental health effects on inmates and correctional officials at Ebongweni Correctional Centre, ultimately facilitating the development of targeted interventions and improvements in mental health services. The findings of the exploratory study will be tabled and discussed at this Seminar.
