For Ms Ziphozenkosi Mntambo being awarded a special prestige entrant scholarship awarded to the top Black African female entrants coming into UKZN as new undergraduate students is motivation for her to continue excelling in her studies.
‘It means a lot to me to see the hard work I did during my matric year pay off and being awarded this scholarship is encouraging me to work even harder,’ said Mntambo.
The Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting student from Nongoma, northern KwaZulu-Natal says that the financial pressures of her tuition are a constant concern for her family, hence, receiving the Frene Ginwala Scholarship helps alleviate the financial stress.
‘I have four siblings, so this scholarship is going to have a massive impact on my life – one being financial relief so I can concentrate on my studies. It will enable me to buy the necessary study materials. This achievement has also inspired my younger siblings to excel in their studies,’ she said.
