The future looks bright for top achiever, Ms Priyashni Reddy, who graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) with a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance degree summa cum laude.
The bright spark was also awarded the College of Law and Management Studies Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship, given to the top three undergraduates in their third year of study at the University.
“These achievements were a significant milestone that reinforced my dedication and commitment to my studies,” said Reddy. “The honour motivated me to continue striving for excellence. I thank my family who are incredibly proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. Their support and encouragement have been a constant source of motivation throughout my academic journey.”
Reddy works at EY, Johannesburg’s Strategy and Transaction graduate programme, where she finds the experience of applying theoretical knowledge to real-world situations enriching.
“Studying this qualification with a second major in Economics, has been both challenging and rewarding,” said Reddy. “The curriculum’s focus on mathematics, statistics, finance, and economics has equipped me with strong analytical and quantitative skills. Throughout this journey, I’ve gained more than academic knowledge – I’ve also developed discipline, resilience, effective time management and the ability to adapt to complex and evolving concepts.”
Looking to the future, Reddy plans to further her studies by obtaining the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and eventually pursuing a master’s degree.
“This strong academic foundation, combined with advanced professional qualifications, will give me the confidence and skills to tackle real-world challenges and succeed in a competitive financial industry,” she said.
